Wards of Court Applications
When a person becomes unable to make decision or manage his or her affairs because of mental incapacity an Application can be made to the Courts for this person to become a Ward of Court. The Court then makes a decision as to whether the person is capable of managing his or her own affairs. If it is decided that the person cannot manage his or her own affairs because of mental incapacity a committee is appointed to control the assets on the Wards behalf. To be made a Ward of Court the Court must be satisfied that the person is of unsound mind and incapable of managing his or her own affairs.
